MS Extracurriculars

  • After School Art

    Our next 8 week session will be starting at the beginning of March. This session’s classes will be on Monday and Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30. Please send in registration form and fee by 2/17/17 to secure your student’s space in the program.  Find the registration form here. For more information, email jshaby@innovationcharter.org.  

  • Band

    IACS MS Band is starting up again soon! Rehearsals will begin the week of 9/12. There are two groups open to new members; our beginner group meets Mondays and Thursdays and our advanced group meets Tuesdays and Fridays. Both groups meet after school until 4:30. If your child is interested in learning how to play a band instrument and read music, or already plays a band instrument and wants to be part of an awesome group, email Ms. Destramp at jdestramp@innovationcharter.org

  • Chorus

    Middle School Chorus has started singing! New students are still welcome to join if they would like to sing with Chorus.  Parents should email Mrs. Lane (elane@innovationcharter.org) if their child wishes to participate and they were unable to attend our first week.   Chorus will meet after-school on Mondays from 3:00-4:00 (note new time) and Wednesdays from12:30-2:00pm.  Students will meet Mrs. Lane on the patio and will be given time for a snack break prior to rehearsal. Please have your children bring a snack on Mondays and lunch on Wednesdays.

    Students are to be picked up promptly at the Middle School Patio by parents at 4:00 pm on Mondays and 2:00pm on Wednesdays.

  • Destination Imagination

  • Dungeons and Dragons

    Do you like to travel through deep, creepy tunnels, fighting monsters and gaining treasure?  D&D is a role-playing game, where all of the action happens in your imagination. New and experienced players are all equally welcome!  Email Mrs. Muhigi at kmuhigi@innovationcharter.org to sign up. D & D will start on Monday, September 26th, in room 207 of the Murdoch building, Bring any supplies you have. We will meet every Monday from 3-4.

  • Garden Club

    The IACS Hawkmoths are the school’s outdoor experts! Come join us in Garden Club from 12:30-2:30pm on Wednesday half days, and 3-4pm on Wednesday full days. We will plant in the garden, learn about and enjoy the land around our beautiful school, make and maintain wildlife habitats, and grow food and flowers. New this year, we’ll enjoy indoor projects as we continue Garden Club over the winter! Students can join any time; if you have other activities, like sports or plays, you can come in the off-season or between shows.

  • Literary Magazine

    IACS MS Literary Magazine — The Scribbler

    Calling all artists and writers! Looking to find a place to publish your work?

    We’re looking for editors and anyone interested in putting together a literary magazine for the year. This is a yearlong commitment, and we are looking for students in good academic standing, who are hardworking and dedicated to publish a literary magazine by the end of the year.

     

    The Scribbler will meet on Thursdays after school from 3:00-4:30 PM in Room 408.

    Mr. Pisco is the Literary Magazine Advisor. Meetings begin on Thursday, October 6, 2016.

    To join, return a signed permission slip to Mr. Pisco.
