School Psychologist

Innovation Academy Charter School (Tyngsboro, MA), a public charter school serving grades 5 through 12, seeks a full-time high school level school psychologist. IACS staff value relationships and collaboration. Our school has a close-knit community of teachers, students, administration, and parents. The student population is diverse and students come to us from nine sending districts, the largest draw coming from Lowell.  Primary job responsibilities include evaluating students for special education services, providing individual and group counseling, and assisting school based teams with behavioral interventions. Flexibility, clear communication skills, and a strong desire to collaborate with school staff and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students is a must for this position. Candidates should be familiar with support plans, behavior improvement plans, and working with IEP teams. Candidates must be licensed as a School Psychologist through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

 7th/8th grade Math Teacher

Math teachers at IACS use a combination of prepared curriculum and teacher-developed challenges to explore the Common Core State Standards. At Innovation, teachers strive to help students see and utilize real-world application of math skills and facilitate students’ problem-solving and acquisition of new skills. We use direct instruction as one tool rather than the norm.

Ideal candidates will be prepared to teach middle school math, including Algebra. We require a bachelor’s degree, ideally in math or related fields; some coursework or work experience in teaching is important. Teachers are responsible for creating a classroom environment that helps each student develop a solid understanding of the concepts explored and an appreciation of the use of mathematics in everyday life and the world around us. We expect our teachers to teach a wide range of students and manage their own classrooms.

 Grade 5 Teacher for Instructional Technology Course. 

Innovation Academy is a project-based charter school serving grades 5-12. All fifth graders at Innovation Academy take a specials course that blends technology skills,  executive functioning support, and systems thinking.  This course helps students learn skills that support their transition to our school and support their project-based work in other classes.
