Community Service at IACS

At IACS, we know that teaching goes beyond the classroom walls. We have seen the results first hand when students participate in community service. It fosters team work, encourages critical thinking, problem solving and generates self-esteem, not to mention the benefit it serves to others.

Each year, all IACS students engage in at least one community service project with their advisory. So far this school year, we have had over 100 students from 11/12 grade advisory groups participate in community service. They visited the House of Hope, Lowell Transitional Living Center and the Lowell Humane Society to name a few locations. Some of the services included painting, raking and sorting donations. We have many more community service projects and locations to serve later this year. If you have any ideas of organizations or community members that could use our help, please don’t hesitate to share that with us. Suggestions are welcome!
