September 9, 2016 11:27 am

The A.M.S.I. Foundation in collaboration with Jack Wang, Financial Coach, hosts a three workshop series for parents and students on the FAFSA, filling out the form, and how to read financial aid award letters. These workshops are designed to provide the tools to help you succeed in the process.

College Financial Aid 101

Part 1 of a 3 Part Series  on September 15th at Chemlsford Public Library

Intended for parents of all high school students. You can’t win the game of financial aid without knowing the rules! This course will review financial aid basics – the “rules” – including the financial aid formula and how different schools determine eligibility. Understanding how financial aid is calculated, what counts and what doesn’t count, will help you maximize financial aid. We’ll also review the net price calculator and how that can help you figure out the true cost of college.
 Getting Ready for the FAFSA

Part 2 of a 3 Part Series on October 20th at Chelmsford Public Library

Time to fill out the FAFSA! A major step in the college application process is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. This workshop will guide you through the process, showing you how to complete this application accurately and quickly. Learn what information is needed, how to set up an FSA (Federal Student Aid) PIN as well as review special family situations that may increase eligibility for financial aid. We’ll touch upon other financial aid applications, the types and sources of financial aid, the hunt for scholarships, and managing college expenses.
