Chemistry teacher Ms. Derival and senior Carrie Brooks attended the Massachusetts Association of Science Teachers conference where they co-presented on the “Sustainable Living Project”. The Sustainable Living Project is the final project in our chemistry classes. Guided by the 12 principles of green chemistry, students are able to design a safer personal care product that balances safety, cost and performance. As part of their presentation, middle school and high school science teachers from across Massachusetts were able to make their own facial/body soap scrub using green ingredients.
