Middle school students will utilize some time in school on February 10th and March 10th for practice essay writing. While students frequently are working on their writing skills in English/Language Arts and across the curriculum, they typically are not working on all aspects of the writing process from prewriting, drafting, and revising/editing in one session as they will be expected to do during the spring MCAS session. We will incorporate some time in the school day on these dates to practice our essay writing from start to finish. This will provide our English/Language Arts teachers diagnostic data to see how students are applying their writing skills.
