HB Salk students are working in small groups on community service
projects. Two of the groups are fundraising and collecting donations
for the MSPCA at Nevins Farm in Methuen. The knitting group is also
working on hand-knit blankets for the homeless kitties. We will be
taking a tour of the facility on Feb 10th, including their lovely modern
adoption center, as well as the farm, where they house sheep, pigs,
cows, horses, chickens, goats, and more.

The adoption center cares for many small animals,
including cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, and birds. They need all sorts
of things to keep them happy and healthy while they wait for a family.
Some examples include toys for dogs and cats, old bed linens and towels
to make cages cozy, hide-aways and chew toys for the small mammals,
cleaning supplies of all kinds, office supplies for the office, and
more. Nevins Farm needs a wide variety of items for the farm animals
too, and yard-care donations are also welcome. Please see the full
listing here: http://www.mspca.org/assets/documents/wish-list-general-2011-2.pdf).

Bring your items for the MPSCA to the cafeteria —
we will have a box there for collecting donations. Cash or checks (made
out to "MSPCA") will be collected by Mrs. Krakauer. Donations will be
accepted until Feb 10th when we visit Nevins Farm!
