The Hawk: February 4, 2016

February 4, 2016 7:00 am

Good Evening IACS Community,

If you haven’t been tracking weather over the course of the day, forecasts indicate that we’ll have some accumulation of snow tonight and throughout much of the day.  Total snowfall and road conditions are obviously harder to predict.

Because IACS does not have it’s own public works department to assess road conditions, we make our decisions to delay, close, or hold normal hours based on reports we receive from surrounding districts.  In the event that we delay or close school, we will notify families in the following ways:

  • Emailing the community using X2, just like “The Hawk”

  • Updating the News section on our website

  • Posting to Channel 4 (WBZ TV) and Channel 5/The Boston Channel (WCVB) websites

  • Please note that we only make these announcements if there is a change to the schedule.  If you don’t see any of the above messages, then assume school will be running as normal.   Lastly, IACS does not use the phone message system for weather related closings, since we try to make these decisions while students (and parents) are getting much needed sleep!

    Have a good evening,

    Greg Orpen
