Walkathon and Pumpkin Run

Dear IACS Community,

This month students will be participating in a Walkathon fundraiser, the first of two fitness-based events this month. Proceeds from these events will be used to improve our campus and promote wellness by upgrading our trail system. Creating a fitness trail with mindfulness stations will offer our students, staff, families and community a place to increase wellness and promote balance. This goal ties in with our IACS 2025 strategic plan of focusing on Classroom, Community and Campus.

The Walkathon will be a Middle School event with students collecting donations from family, friends and neighbors and then walking during Advisory period on either Oct 22nd or 23rd. Families may elect to collect their donations/pledges online by creating an online fundraising page and sharing the form via text, email and or social media. Create your own page here (takes less than 3 minutes!) As you collect donations online, your student will be able to see their progress bar get closer and closer to the goal that you choose for yourself.

Awards will be given for the top 3 individual fundraisers as well as the top advisory on each team. Additionally the advisory that shows the most school spirit will win a field trip to Sullivan Farms!

The second annual Pumpkin Run will be a 3K trail race on Thursday October 25th and is open to ALL students, staff, families and community members. Register here and let us know if you’d like to be timed (first 100 participants only) or if you’d like to just run for fun. With your $15 registration fee, participants will receive a drawstring backpack perfect to use at our Trunk or Treat event that same day.

On the day of Pumpkin Run, beginning at 3:30pm, we will have a celebration event open to all, to include music, games, face painting, food, Trunk or Treat, and a chance to watch the Girls Varsity soccer game as well as an awards ceremony for both the Pumpkin Run and the Walkathon. For more information about the event, check out the school website at There you’ll be able to sign up to be a Trunk or Treat car (dress up your car and hand out treats), register for the race, create a personal Walkathon page or volunteer to help.
