Amanda is very excited to be joining the IACS community in her role as Dean of Students. Amanda started her teaching career as an Arts and Humanities teacher at the Francis Parker Charter School, a project-based learning school where she worked for 9 years. Since then, she has taught in a variety of different schools, both charter and district public, urban and suburban. She is in her second year in administration, and is passionate about working with teachers to develop exciting curriculum and support students. Amanda holds a bachelors degree in Philosophy from Boston College, a Masters degree in Anthropology and Gender Studies from Brandeis University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Endicott College. She is always learning and growing, and brings a lens of equity and cultural responsiveness to all her work. In her free time she loves to read, nap, bake, go for long walks, and hang out with loved ones and her hedgehog, Maisie.
