Ashley Uyaguari graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a BA in Spanish and Religion Education in 2006. In Michigan, Ashley was very involved in her community, and was a middle school youth group coordinator, paving the way for her passion for education. In 2007, Ashley returned to New England to teach Spanish at Alvirne High school in Hudson, NH. After that, Ashley had the opportunity to spend a year living in Ecuador. She taught English as a foreign language in Gualaquiza, Ecuador. Being immersed in the culture of Ecuador strengthened her Spanish speaking skills and increased her familiarity with the target culture. In 2010, she joined Innovation to teach Middle School Spanish.
