Donna Harrington’s undergraduate degree is in computer science and business economics, and she worked as a software engineer for ten years. She then homeschooled her four kids for several years, and volunteered as a teacher at a homeschool co-op during that time. She joined IACS when her kids decided to return to school. Donna started as the school’s robotics teacher, and every year helps coach a team for the Botball competition. She now also teaches Computer Science and a class called Art and Technology. Donna organizes and coaches a middle school robotics club and a technology challenge for girls. In addition to teaching, Donna’s other passion is writing. In the fall of 2013 she self-published a collection of stories for middle school kids, Math Myths for the Modern Child, which a number of IACS students have been kind enough to read. She also teaches and enjoys yoga, biking, live music, blues dancing, reading, community service and being facebook friends with former students. She abhors cooking and loves Trader Joe’s.
