Mary Patterson teaches Science on the 5/6 Effective Communication Team. She joined IACS in 2010. She has long been involved in science and environmental education. After receiving her bachelors degree in Geo-sciences from Skidmore College, she worked as an educator in many outdoor settings, from the Colorado prairie to the salt marshes of Rhode Island. After several years working in an elementary school setting, she switched gears to join IACS and has enjoyed working with middle schoolers ever since. She is an outdoor enthusiast who loves traveling and backpacking adventures. Her passion for science is only rivaled by her passion for singing and playing guitar.
