Although he is new to coaching, Mike has been playing soccer since he was 5 years old. His passion for soccer began on the streets of Sofia, Bulgaria, where many of the local kids would gather around his block to scrimmage. After moving to the U.S., Mike played for the Stoneham town and travel teams, and then continued on to play for the Stoneham High School Varsity team after his freshman year. He also has experience refereeing town/club soccer in various age groups, ranging from U-8s to U-18s. He believes that his soccer experience will transfer well into coaching, which will help him to pass down his knowledge of the game into a new generation of players.
