Growing up surrounded by history in Greater Boston, Sevan developed a lifelong passion for the discipline. He received his BA in history from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, then went on to attend graduate school at Yerevan State University in Yerevan, Armenia. After returning to the United States, Sevan continued his graduate studies in history at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he discovered his passion for teaching as a teaching assistant. Upon completing his degree at UCLA, Sevan returned to Massachusetts and began teaching at Middlesex Community College and Granite State College. He is very excited to be joining the history faculty at IACS. Outside of the classroom, Sevan enjoys reading, cooking, television and film, spending time with family and friends, and taking day trips to Amherst to watch UMass hockey and basketball.
